I’m proud to announce the release of a beautiful new print, “First Light Three Sisters” that I will debut during First Friday Art Walk.  I will be sharing this image and, an elegant new Hosmer Lake print along with several  of my iconic classics.  This image was conceptualized years ago and finally the elements of planning, weather and access coalesced into the beautiful image of Central Oregon’s Three Sisters you see here.  My good friend, Troy McMullin joined me on this snowy backcountry expedition into the Three Sisters Wilderness.

First Light, Three Sisters.

First Light, Three Sisters.

We traveld almost entirely on snow, carrying heavy packs and then climbed several thousand feet above the Green Lakes Basin to capture this image.  The weather was cloudy when we set up camp and spirits were waning.  The weather forecast predicted clear skies in the morning.  We were fueled by faith in weather forecasting, a dubious distinction!  I awoke well before sunrise to find blissfully clear vistas of Central Oregon’s Three Sisters Mountain, arranged elegantly above the Green Lakes Basin.  I was and am thrilled to capture one of Oregon’s most iconic hiking destinations(the Green Lakes Basin)in the same print with South Sister( Charity, Middle Sister( Hope), and North Sister( Faith).  The delicate and warm alpenglow gracing the summits of the Three Sisters is a wonderful photographic bonus!  In addition to the beautiful alpenglow, the Three Sisters, and the Green Lakes Basin, I love the intricate spring snow pattern that adorns the flanks of the Sisters.  This pattern can only be captured with patience and lots of suffering!  Thanks to all of my readers and please join me this Friday from 5-9 PM at Deschutes Brewery, located at 1044 NW Bond Street in downtown Bend, Oregon!  I hope to see you there!
