I’ve recently decided to start printing  some images from outside of my home state of Oregon, such as the print seen below of Yellowstone Falls and the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone National Park.  Yellowstone is truly a beautiful and bewildering National Park and should be on the bucket list of any outdoor enthusiast.  I traveled to Yellowstone several years ago with My wife and daughter and my Sister-in-law, Kerry and her family, including her husband and beer drinking buddy of mine, John as well as their son, Ben, and daughter, Kelcey, who just graduated from high school, which makes me feel a little old!  My daughter idolizes Kelcey and Ben, I like to adventure with John, and my wife loves them all, so the group is a wonderful fit.  This wasn’t the only image I captured while in Yellowstone National Park but it was my favorite.

Yellowstone Falls and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone National Park

This view of Yellowstone Falls and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone is always stunning but on this day, I had warm, high overcast light, making the conditions perfect for my purposes.  Hopefully this will make for a wonderful fine art print from Yellowstone National Park.  There is also a sense of history about this image that made me want to share it with my collectors.  The thought that luminaries such as Ansel Adams and John Muir probably stood at this same spot(they probably didn’t have as many tourists staring at them as I did!) and that they were probably just as moved by the grandeur of Yellowstone, makes this location in Yellowstone special for me.  I also captured images of hundreds of bison grazing in Hayden Valley, geysers, and hot springs during this trip to Yellowstone Park but this image felt like the most appropriate one to make  my first print of Yellowstone National Park.
