Broken Top Mountain
Wildflowers flourish along Broken Top Trail in the Three Sisters Wilderness Area
Broken Top Mountain is one of the premier hiking location in Oregon and the destination of several Bend Oregon hikes. The fabled Broken Top Trail is the most direct trail to the high elevation alpine areas that surround Oregon’s epic Broken Top Mountain. The drive to Broken Top Trail is arguably the most difficult part of this adventure. A 30 minute drive over a deeply rutted and extremely rocky forest service road should NOT be attempted without a high clearance 4-Wheel Drive vehicle. Intrepid adventurers are rewarded with high alpine terrain characterized by open meadows speckled with Mountain Hemlock and Whitebark pine.
Snow melt streams moisten riparian areas allowing for stunning wildflower displays in late summer.
Broken Top Trail Forks after about 1/2 miles, allowing for two different destinations, Broken Top Crater, as well as No-Name Lake. The No-Name Lake fork culminates in a stunning, high elevation alpine lake, views of Crook Glacier, Bend Glacier as well as sweeping views of the Three Sisters Mountains. The Broken Top Crater fork descends to crater creek before climbing along braided alpine streams all the way to the terminus of the Crater glacier.
This stunning new Broken Top fine art print does an excellent job of capturing a sense of place. Grand mountain views, technicolor volcanic rocks, a burbling alpine stream and an epic selection of alpine wildflowers combine to make a gorgeous new fine art landscape photograph. While the small image file seen here on my website is attractive, the magic lies in the large fine art prints of this image which include stunning detail, enlivening the various elements that make this fine art landscape photograph sing.
As a fine art landscape photographer, this type of scene is a slice of heaven. Sweeping lines from a gorgeous alpine stream, wide open alpine spaces, the towering pinnacles of Broken Top Mountain and thousands of magical alpine wildflowers make for a stunning new fine art landscape photograph!
