“Cannon Beach Tide Pool”

Oregon Coast Fine Art Photograph

I’m a self-employed Oregon landscape photographer, which allows me a fair amount of flexibility in my work schedule.  My immediate family is small but happy, composed of my amazing wife, Dr. Debbie Putnam, my wonderful daughter, Emma Putnam and myself.  My work is often fit in between family obligation, which largely means me being soccer dad extraordinaire.  Don’t get me wrong, I love being soccer-Dad.  Much of my first 22 years was dominated by soccer.  I played soccer in high school, go Sayre Spartans!  And in college, go Kenyon Lords! and I genuinely enjoy watching good soccer at any level.    Because Emma plays on a traveling team as well as for Summit High School, there is a  lot of travel in my life as a landscape photographer/soccer-Dad.

Whenever possible, I try to dovetail soccer Dad travel duties with Landscape photography.  During a recent soccer trip to Portland, Oregon, Emma and I decided to take a side trip to the Oregon Coast, where I had hoped to capture a new Cannon Beach landscape photograph.  The Oregon Coast is always beautiful but the weather can be….fickle.  Winters are often rainy and summers often feel the cool bite of coastal fog.   Knowing chilly weather is to be expected, Emma and I set expectations low and hoped for the best.  We could not have been more pleasantly surprised.  We were blessed with bluebird skies and peak temps of 70 degrees and some distant clouds which contributed to this new Cannon Beach landscape photograph!  As the weather was fantastic, Cannon Beach had plenty of beachcombers patrolling during sunset.  Emma was an invaluable photo assistant while I was capturing this scene.  She repeatedly and kindly asked people to divert behind me while I worked with the quickly fading light.

The scene was electric, my assistant was efficient and I was ecstatic!  I have always been drawn to compositions which utilize clean, elegant lines. This Cannon Beach photo definitely has those clean lines!  The framed fine art photograph is absolutely stunning and would be a gorgeous reminder of Oregon’s magical Cannon Beach!  Click the big blue button above to see print sizes, Print media and pricing for this new fine art print.

I will soon be releasing fine art photographs of Oregon’s Face Rock in Bandon and Oregon’s Samuel Boardman Scenic Byway, so please check back often!
