Oregon’s Three Sisters,”Alpine Confluence”

Wildflowers and Streams decorate Oregon’s Three Sisters Wilderness

This new Oregon Three Sisters photo looks the way Summer feels in the Bend Oregon area. Sweeping Mountain Views with persistent glaciers clinginging to rocky faces. Alpine Wildflowers erupting and Mountain streams converging and invigorating a beautiful landscape. Central Oregon is dependent upon annual snowfall for Irrigation

and drinking water. Fortunately, The Oregon Cascades get heavy snowfall in most winters. Snow fields cover alpine landscapes for much of what is considered summer. As the snow fields melt, streams are filled and riparian areas are nourished, allowing Alpine wildflowers to bloom and decorate the landscape.

Broken Top Mountain, seen at left as well as South sister,Middle Sister, and North Sister are all located within the Three Sisters Wilderness Area.

Capturing this new fine art print

Reaching this magical location requires a long hike starting on a dusty, dull trail and culminating in the scene you see here. I had hiked to this same location the week before in a scouting mission during which I assessed wildflower bloom maturity and envisioned compositions and optimal time of day for capturing a given scene. My plans dont always work out but they certainly did during this return trip to the landscape you see in this new Oregon fine art photograph.   Skies were bright and blue, wildflowers were at their peak bloom and conditions were blissfully windless. Wind is a landscape photographer’s mortal enemy. Even slight winds turn wildflowers into a blurry mess during long exposures necessitated by small aperture settings and low light conditions. Prints like you see here require persistence and good fortune!
