Pretty Little Trees
Mt. Hood National Forest
“Pretty Little Trees”. I visited this area of Mt. Hood National Forest while returning from a backpacking trip into the Mt. Hood Wilderness Area. I had no intention of capturing an abstract forest image but this hillside of nearly perfect trees caught my eye. I’ve always felt a certain, “energy” when in the midst of a healthy forest. On a whim, I turned my camera towards this beautiful, clean and simple evergreen forest and fired off a couple of exposures. Upon viewing the enlarged image files, I was excited to enjoy the amazing range of green tones and textures I had seen when composing this image. The interspersed Western Hemlock, Western Red Cedar, Douglas Fir and Silver fir make for a subtle yet elegant range of color.
