This image of Kauai’s Waimea Canyon is a slight departure from my large collection of Oregon landscape prints but it is one which holds special sentimental appeal. My wife Debbie, me and our wonderful friends, Max and Chris Reitz traveled to Kauai several years ago. I’d never been to any of the Hawaiian islands and Kauai was stunning. Like the Bend, Oregon area, Kauai has tremendous geographical diversity. The west side of Kauai is a sparsely inhabited desert while the east side of Kauai is one of the wettest environments in the world.
Waimea Canyon, sometimes referred to as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, is located in the middle of Kauai and has moderate rainfall.
Kauai’s Waimea Canyon is a truly stunning site. Deep copper mountain tops are augmented by lime green threads of foliage and beautifully textured canyons. While Waimea Canyon is not the only beautiful location on Kauai, it is one that I’ll never forget. To enjoy this image and my other fine art image, please visit the portfolio page on my website.
